RECONSTRUIR

With the aim of promoting access to housing for migrant and refugee families living in Portugal, the project is promoting the construction of 6 houses in Tadim, Braga - the First Reconstruir Community.

Since January 2022, we have been working on building the first Reconstruir Community, in Tadim, Braga. We are building 6 houses so that the Ilick, Pumbulu, Shlash and Shlash families can start their lives anew, in a space where the values of Sharing and Community prevail.

Axes of this project

Building homes at a reduced price

Building costs are reduced by using donated land and materials, as well as voluntary labor for the building process.

Accountability of the Families

The families are involved from the beginnig. They collaborate as volunteers in the building of their home and buy it through an adjusted payment plan.

Relations within the neighborhood

The family engages in the community through events that promote their feeling of neighbourliness and belonging.

It was a day full of energy, dominated by the desire to get to know other people and the spirit of mutual help. The days spent working at the Reconstruir Project building site prove to us, once again, that borders are nowhere else than in our heads.

For me, the Reconstruir Project is home. Knowing that I will have my own house, paid and built by me, with the help of my friends and these people, makes me very happy. Here, in Tadim, we will be able to live a safe and happy life.
